Broadcom CEO Hock Tan criticized AI investors who treat the market like a casino, saying many don't understand and have excessive expectations. Although Broadcom shares are up nearly 10% this year, Tan highlighted that the AI company is still loss-making and its profitability is uncertain. The AI sector relies heavily on expensive infrastructure such as data centers and chips, with capital shortages and high borrowing costs as risks. Industry leaders caution that while AI has huge potential, investors should focus on companies that are using AI to generate real benefits, such as in retail or healthcare, not just technology developers.
